Stage-like spaces constructed from red elements frame the lettering in the central image of the triptych. The figures who appear on these stages are both reference and protagonists at once. They originate from Krauß’s multimedia installation [After her Destruction] (2024), a work positioned as a staging between theatre, opera, and video installation, oscillating between linear narration and collage-like essay, within a virtual environment accompanied by material analogies. The protagonist, Girl, wanders through a computer-generated and cinematically reinterpreted world in which writing exists on multiple levels: through coding, the programming of social norms, the script, composition, inscription in painting, and finally layered storytelling.
Lila-Zoé Krauß is an artist, performer, and musician (under the alias L Twills). In her transdisciplinary practice, she combines music, video, performance, textiles, collage, and digital media, examining perception, normative structures, memory, and identity. Krauß studied at the HFBK Hamburg under Prfof. Jutta Koether, at CalArts in Los Angeles, and in Sound Studies at the Berlin University of the Arts. Her work has been presented at Kampnagel (Hamburg), the Pop-Kultur Festival (Berlin), documenta15 (Kassel), Secession, and the Volkstheater (Vienna). In 2024, Kunsthaus Hamburg realised her first institutional solo exhibition; further presentations followed, among others, in Zurich, Düsseldorf, and Vienna.
